Sergeant David Krumer and Officer Phil Larsen at the 2012 Blessing of the Bikes. Come meet and greet LAPD’s newest Bicycle Liaisons on October 4th.
The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) would like to invite everyone in the bicycling community to a Bicycle Community Outreach Meeting to introduce four newly appointed Traffic Division Bicycle Liaisons. As Officer Jeff Kievit discussed in the most recent Bicycle Plan Implementation Team (BPIT) meeting, instead of just one point of contact with the LAPD, there will now be four officers solely dedicated to bicycle safety and outreach, one for each LAPD Traffic Division. Each Traffic Division (TD) is responsible for the investigation of traffic collisions and traffic-related crimes located in its respective Bureau.
Here are the new Bicycle Liaisons with their contact information:
| Central Bureau Traffic Division | |
| Sgt. Thomas Tavares (213-972-1864) | Sgt. Emalee Baptiste (818-644-8030) |
| Sgt. Jon Aufdemberg (323-421-2588) |
Sgt. Chris Kunz (213-473-0215)
|
The meeting will be held on Thursday, October 4, at 4:00 pm, at the Police Administration Building, in room 374. You’ll be able to introduce yourself and your organization or cause/concerns to the liaison that serves your neighborhood. Commander Matt Blake will detail how the new system will continue to improve the relationship LAPD has with the bicycling community.
We look forward to seeing you all there!
