Congratulations, LADOT has installed over 300 miles of bike lanes. That's 80% more than the 167 miles that were in place when the 2010 bike plan was written! Quite an accomplishment in comparison with what was done previously in this amount of time.

If I'm not mistaken, there have been 62.55 miles installed so far this fiscal year. Compare that to the 60.2 miles of bike lanes installed in New York City's peak year of bike lane installations in 2009.

Another comparison is that almost 17% of the 1,800 miles of arterial streets in LA now have bike lanes and of the 1,300 miles of arterial streets in Portland there are 181 miles of bike lanes, or almost 14% of the miles of arterial streets.

Of the 90 largest cities in the U.S., Los Angeles had the 13th largest amount of bike lane centerline miles in 2009. The current 300 miles of bike lanes would have ranked LA 5th in 2009.
