Mark your calendars for Monday, August 22nd from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (or click on our handy little “Add to Google Calendar” button at the bottom of this paragraph to add the event to your Google Calendar). The Metro Implementation and Operations Subcommittee is going to be holding a Bicycle Roundtable to discuss various bike related issues dealing with Metro operator training, bicycle outreach, and education. Join us below the fold to see Metro’s tentative agenda for the roundtable.
Metro’s tentative agenda outlines the following:
- Review of the Training Module and Bus Operator’s Safety Information Guide, developed for bus operators by Central Instruction. The Module focuses on pedestrian and bicycle safety. (Hector Guerrero, Metro Director, Operations Training & Improvement)
- Bikes on Rails – Anytime, 2011 Summer Education Campaign (Alice Tolar, Project Manager)
- Education Campaign Feedback (Rye Baerg, Intern Field Coordinator & Bikeway Planning Interns)
The meeting will take place in the Gateway Plaza Conference Room located on the third floor of Metro Headquarters. I’ll take a stab at live tweeting the roundtable on the Bike Blog’s twitter account @ladotbikeprog, and we’ll do a follow up post sometime following the event.
