LADOT Bike Blog is proud to announce that our department has launched our own Facebook page and Twitter feed. That’s right, the LADOT Bike Program is slowly, ever so slowly, entering the 21st century. You can now find us at the L.A.D.O.T. Bike Program Facebook page or the LADOT Bike Program Twitter feed.
Big Steps for the Bike Program
We consider outreach with the bicyclists of Los Angeles to be extremely important. This approach didn’t always exist at LADOT, and we recognize that some past snafus could have been minimized had a better line of communication existed with both the bicycle community and the public at large. That’s what these newest initiatives (and the blog itself, really) are all about.
The launch of these social media tools represent a redoubled commitment to communicate our program’s message while also being more receptive to the messages and ideas of others. We want to make it as easy as possible for you to either find out what the LADOT Bike Program is doing to improve bicycling in Los Angeles or for you to get in touch with us about your needs as an urban bicyclist.
A new facebook page and twitter feed also represent a further commitment to transparency in our office. We want you to know what we’re doing, what we’re reading, and what we’re thinking about. And we’d like you to share with us as well. The cumulative wisdom of LA’s bicycling community is an invaluable resource, and it is one that we hope to tap in the future.
